The Power of the Father

Church & Religion No Comments

the-game-plan-movie I was watching the movie ” The Game Plan” starring Dwayne Johnson again the other night. Thanks to DSTV always repeating movies over and over. Well something Stuck with me and that’s a line used in the movie ” The power of The Father”.

This got me thinking about just how important the role of the father really is. To many of us and with “us” I mean fathers, we do not take our role to seriously. The only role we tend to play without fail is that of  provider. Now again don’t get me wrong I admire men that can provide for their families. I think in today’s day and age we need more of those kind of man.  Looking around in my community alone its amazing how many fatherless homes you see. It reminds me of what someone once said “any fool can be a father but not all fathers can be dads” or something like that. You know what I mean.

Anyway that is not what I wanted to focus on so back to the topic of the day. As I said the line got me thinking what is the true power of the father. Surely there must be more to it then just providing for your families financial needs.

We had fallen in love and knew that this was the person we wanted to spend the rest of our life with. Little differences between us were cute and endearing.

And the two shall become One

Marriage & Family 1 Comment

Mark 10:7:8

7‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, 8and the two will become one flesh.’ So they are no longer two, but one.

I always pondered on this statement. When does it actually happen? when we confess our love to each other and say I do, when you kiss the bride or when you consummate the marriage.
